The Runway 5-23 reconstruction project consisted of the reconstruction of the runway pavement accommodate aircraft fleet mixes based on Group IV design standards as suggested in the Airport Master Plan. The work also included cross slope corrections, grooving, and updated markings. The existing edge lighting and signage electrical system (cable, transformers, fixtures, and concrete pads) was rehabilitated, preserving the existing base cans and conduits to meet funding limitations. The project also included relocation of existing wind cones to conform to safety area criterion, and replacement of failed PAPI and VASI units with new PAPI units.
